The start of the Fall Race #2, postponed for about an hour while the wind tried to fill in, sailed a #4, #3, Finish - marks to port, on a semi-solid but light breeze. With the lake level up, there a few logs drifting through the course propelled by a stronger than normal current. The current and the logs combined with the light winds, made for a challenging weather leg.

The second race sailed a #4, #3, Finish, marks to port course. Jib reaching on a building breeze John Landefeld and his son Bill held off a charging Dennis Tremble by about 3 seconds to win the second race. This was the day's first photo finish.

The third race was a windward/leeward twice around using the start/finish line as a gate, (#4, Gate, #4, Finish - marks to port). For the second windward leg, Tony Marlow took the gate on a port tack. He sailed a smart beat up the shore, avoiding most of the current, rounding the top mark in first. Dennis, in second at the weather mark, on dying winds chased Tony down, nipping him by a few seconds for the day's second photo finish.

The forth race sailed a quick #4, #3, Finish - marks to Port as the afternoon's predicted stronger and gusty winds began to build. There were a few good puffs before the finish, but no one got wet and all had a good day of sailing.

Since the fall race #3 was canceled due to unpleasant weather, (i.e. big wind, a lot of rain, and chilly temperatures), the last race of the 2018 season was sailed on Saturday 10/20/2018 in exactly opposite conditions. Saturday was relative warn, the sun was shining in all it's radiant glory, and the wind, as defined by the Beaufort Scale was Calm. The no air postponement gave Ray Peters a chance to replace the failed main halyard sleave on Breezn'

The Race #1 was a drifted simple 1, F, marks to port. 20 minutes after the start, the three boat fleet had managed to cover about 1/10th of the first leg. The wind had only piped up from almost nothing to a little more than almost nothing, so the RC shortened the weather leg; then shortened it some more, and then some more. Even with these adjustments, the first race took 67 minutes to sail.

The wind continued to build and the second race managed to complete the same course (1, F, marks to P) in just less than 20 minutes.

Shortly after race #3 started on a 1, 3, F, marks to starboard course, the wind at the western end of the lake began to die away. Seeing there was better wind to the east, the RC abandoned race #3 and restarted it as a 4, F, marks to port. With a downwind start into a building breeze race #3 was sailed in fine fashion with the wind holding around 5 to 6 knots.

By the time race #4 started, the wind was a steady 6 to 7 knots where it remained the rest of the day. Race #4 sailed a longer triangle course of 1, 3, 4, F, marks to starboard, with two nice reaching legs, that finished in less than half hour.

Race #5 was the longest of the day, sailed a 1, gate, 1, 4, F course with marks to port. With 2 windward legs and 1.5 leeward legs and perfect winds the last race of the CBSC 2018 came to a close.

Although the day began dead calm, it finished about 14:30 under splendid conditions. As the boats came out of the water for the last time this year and started to take on their winter wrappings, "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;" 1 could take our rest knowing we had been given the gift of a perfect end to the 2018 sailing season.
