DesertRegatta

Hosted by the Columbia Basin Sailing Club, the Desert Regatta is an annual race held at Charbonneau Park on the Snake River, 17 miles east of Pasco, Wa. Flying Scot, Hobie, Thistle, Tasar, Lido, C-Lark, San Juan 21, Fireball, Lightning, and all Portsmouth One Design classes. Three boats in any class will have their own start. All races sailed under the Racing Rules of Sailing, (RRS), except as provided in the Desert Regatta Sailing Instructions and as prescribed by the One Design or Association Class rules. Race registration made online via US Sailing Regatta Network is $35 on or before May 14, 2022 or $40 after May 14, 2022 online or at the event.

Dinner is served after final race (meals purchased via the online registraton)

LocalAccommodations

Tent and RV camping at Charbonneau Campground. Columbia Basin Sailing Club has reserved four campsites for the event. These sites are available through Doug Queen for $60.00 for two nights, Friday and Saturday (May 19-20, 2022). A site for Sunday night (May 21, 2022) must be arranged through the Charbonneau Park Campground Reservation System. Camping in the overflow camping area is no longer possible, but camp sites may be available at Hood Park, down river from Charbonneau Park.

Things to know before you reserve at Charbonneau Park:

  • Friday and Saturday night only.
  • Check-in time is 2 P.M., no exceptions.
  • Check-out time is 12 P.M.
  • Maximum of 8 people per site.
  • There is room for only 1 RV and 2 tents or 3 tents.
  • Tents must be moved every 2 days.
  • 3 night minimum stay required on holiday weekends.
  • Park Gate is locked nightly from 10 pm - 6 am.
  • The Campground Attendant will open the gate for emergencies.
