The weather turned out nicer than anticipated, winds were 10 - 14 mph. The last race was abandoned since the wind speeds finally met with predictions and we were getting overpowered.

The third and final race day of the 2019 sailing season could not have been a better sailing day. The skies were sunny, temperatures were pleasant, and the winds started out light.
With moderate winds out of the southwest the first race sailed our normal 1 to 4 to Finish, windward /leeward, with 5 boats taking the start.
For the second race the course was a 1 to 3 to 4 to Finish, triangle. With two good reaching legs and the wind starting to build several boats popped up on a plane. All finishers had big smiles as they crossed the finished.
True to the forecast, the winds started to build and clock around to the northwest. The course, a 3 to 1 to finish, was a bit odd with a starting line skewed about 90 degrees to the first mark. But with the afternoon winds expected to pick up it was decided not to take the time to redo the line. Everyone got off to a clean start. As the wind built the race was quickly completed.
As the last boats finished, the winds freshened and we scrambled into the safety of the harbor. With the boats on their trailers and tucked away until next year, the sailors retired to the CBSC yacht club (a.k.a. The Burbank Tavern), to celebrate a very successful conclusion to the 2019 sailing season.
All races used whistle starts. Race Committee: Jeff Bartlett
