The morning of Saturday September 18th was cool and rainy with light air. Four hardy boats turned up and after a few discussions decided to give it a try.
Due to an electrical issue the Whaler was a DNS. So we faked a course. Declaring the start line ran from the white buoy, sometimes used as the #3 mark, and a flag on the dock in the swimming area. With four boats and a starting line that ran the width of the lake, no one could claim the line was to short! The weather mark was the Red flash #2, which marks the entrance to the locks.
The first two races were a windward/leeward of Red #2, to finish. From the light air at the start of the first race, over the course of the day the winds gradually increased. So for the third race the course was expanded to Red #2, to #3, to Red #2, to finish.
With the skies still overcast, a light drizzle, and a bit more wind, the chilled sailors decided to call it a day. Despite the rain, everyone had a good time and enjoyed a nice bit of sailing. Race Committee: Jeff Bartlett
