The Mexican Downriver wasn't meant to be on Saturday, May 21, 2011. The wind was blowing 15+ mph and countercurrent and portended something a bit more intensive than a family fun cruise on the Columbia. The skippers present took a quorum and decided to postpone until a later date. Several of the skippers still wanted to make a day of it and decided to try Charbonneau, figuring it would be a bit more protected. The wind there was in the 15 - 20 mph range and lightened up a bit toward the end of the day.

Club racing on June 25 started with a bang and ended with a whimper. The first two morning races saw idyllic 12 -14 winds. Both races ended with a weather mark finish. During the last race in the afternoon, the wind waned wildly, dropped to a couple mph, and both sides of the lake experienced alternately favored conditions typical of fickle Chaboneau until the conclusion of the race.
