The first race of the 2019 spring series was canceled due to strong and gusty winds. Ken Dwyer took FS #25 out for one or two tacks, turned around, and put it on the trailer.
For the second race of the spring series, the morning of May 11th saw light winds (forecast at 3 to 6) and mostly clear skies. Five Flying Scots and Bernie's C-Lark came out for what turned out to be an enjoyable day of sailing.
Sailing shortened windward/leeward courses we managed to get in 4 good races before mid-afternoon. The first three were a Start, to #4, to Finish. These were downwind starts with the light air keeping things at the line under control. The 4th race reversed the course to our more usual Start, to #1, to Finish. Although a longer course than the first three races, it was sailed in the strongest winds of the day.
The racing was competitive with little time spread between the boats finishing time, and three separate winners in the four races. Race Committee: Jeff Bartlett
