The CBCS Summer Race #2 sailed on Saturday the July 13th, in Light Air to a Gentle Breeze (as defined by the Beaufort scale) and warm summer sunshine. There were four flying Scots, Jeff Nelson’s Luders 21, and Bernie Newman’s C-Lark taking the starts. Winds were mostly light but there was always enough breeze to make the boats move.
As an added treat Dave & Nancy Gillis and a couple of their grandkids, came out in the pickle boat. It was wonderful to see that light blue spinnaker, pulling them smartly down the reaching leg.
We sailed five races on a variety of courses and variable winds. This kept the sailors on their toes all day. After the races, a few cohorts met at the CBSC Yacht Club (A.K.A. The Burbank Tavern) for some liquid refreshment, food, and more than one tall tale. Race Committee: Jeff Bartlett

The winds on 7/27 were generally 12 - 14 mph and consistent all day long. Perfect day. We got five races in.
All races used whistle starts.
